Formed in 1961 by a group of oilmen concerned about the federal government’s growing regulatory role, the Permian Basin Petroleum Association (PBPA) has grown from fewer than twenty members to more than 1,000 member companies. We represent the interests of exploration & production companies, service companies, midstream companies, and support services companies that operate in the Permian Basin.

We are the voice of the Permian Basin petroleum industry. PBPA is the leading advocate for the Permian Basin petroleum industry throughout West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico. Our trade association is headquartered in Midland, Texas, with satellite offices in Austin and Santa Fe. PBPA serves the industry as an informed and influential legislative, regulatory, and educational voice in Austin, Santa Fe, and Washington, D.C.
